My name is Cathy Smith and I’ve been working at Brookfield for 9 years. I began my journey as a class teacher, moving through the leadership levels and became Head of School in 2017.
I share my job role with Liz Guyton which allows me to stay in the classroom for 2 and half days a week. This is where my passion began, inspiring and engage children to learn while enabling them to grow into caring, resistant little people!
I thoroughly enjoy the challenge of working across the Federation and seeing the children through to the end of their primary education. Being part of the Governing team allows me to share the hard work we do in school on a day to day basis and also strategically work towards whole school improvements.
As a school we are fortunate to have a committed, supportive team of governors who are regular faces around our school. Along with the rest of the leadership team, I frequently have meetings with governors to monitor areas such as safeguarding, teaching and learning and pupil progress. I also attend governor meetings to ensure the board is up to date with data and the strategic running of the school.
I am looking forward to the next few years and the challenges and joys it brings!
