At Brookfield Junior School, our RE curriculum follows the Kent Agreed Syllabus (2017-2022). This focuses mainly on Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism and Humanists (a non-religious group) at Key Stage 2.
Using the Kent Agreed Syllabus, we learn about a variety of religions and world views and how it’s important to have respect and tolerance for a range of belief systems and ideals.
Children learn about the beliefs of others, developing understanding and respect for people of other cultures and faiths, and transfer this into their day-to-day lives. We believe it is important to provide children with opportunities to make links between what they have learnt and how this affects their own behaviours/choices or is reflected within their own actions.
