Maths -
Zoom Call Input:
1. Discussing learning from last week- key vocab: 2d, vertices, edges and what these actually mean.
2. Moving on to discuss 3d shapes- what does this actually mean? (A shape which has length, height and depth).
3. CT to work through power point with the children discussing each 3d shape.
4. CT to explain to the children their activity challenge- to create a 3d junk model from recycling/what they have found around the house. This can be shown on tomorrows zoom call with the children, photos uploaded to dojo are also very welcome and will be printed off by TAs to go in their learning journals.
5. Independent activity- Children to have a go at creating a junk model. If parents do not wish their children to do this I have also uploaded some differentiated colouring worksheets as an alternative.
Expectations:
All children- make a simple model.
Most- make a model and be able to explain cube/cuboid/cylinder.
Some- make a model and be able to explain all the shapes they may have used and notice that some shapes are not a specific 3d shape- for example: Mince pie tins for eyes.
AFTER BREAK
6. Continue and finish junk model.
7. Play education city game Sunny shapes, I have also added onto their accounts the associated worksheet with this and will also attach to the files on this website. :)
Note- If possible could parents make sure that their child has the 3d shape properties mat to refer to in tomorrows Zoom input. It is attached with Fridays Documents.
