We have a joint federation governing body covering both Brookfield Infant and Brookfield Junior School.

We are always open to feedback - the ways we can improve and therefore maximise the outcomes of the children (which is the focus) is by dialogue, listening to parents/guardians and the involvement of the community. How our governing body works
The Flourish Federation has one governing body responsible for both Brookfield Infant School and Brookfield Junior School. We operate through a full governing body model rather than a standing committee structure.
The governing body sets the federation’s strategic direction, holds school leaders to account for educational performance and oversees financial management, ensuring resources are used effectively to support pupils.
Individual governors have specific monitoring responsibilities. Three governor monitoring days each year provide the main opportunities to review the schools’ work, gather evidence and evaluate progress against agreed priorities. Additional monitoring opportunities are arranged where needed to follow up specific priorities or emerging issues. Findings are reported to the governing body to inform discussion, challenge and decisions.
The full governing body meets six times each year. Pay panel meetings are held separately where required and may take place in addition to these meetings.

Co-opted governors, and associate members are appointed by the governing body. Parent governors are elected by parents, and the staff governor is elected by staff. The local authority governor is nominated by Kent County Council and appointed by the governing body. Headteachers serve by virtue of their office.
