Sue Black

I joined Brookfield Junior School in September 2021 following 19 years in a variety of good and outstanding primary schools.  I started as a Teaching Assistant and then had a spell in the school office when I returned from maternity leave with my fourth child.  I returned to working in the classroom as a Cover Supervisor and then finally did my teacher training and became a class teacher.  I have worked hard, as I joined teaching quite late in life, to become a Phase Leader and Maths Leader in my previous school and am now delighted to be embarking on another adventure with Brookfield and adding the important role of Staff Governor to my skills.

My own four children have just about completed their education journeys and seeing how their different schools worked, together with my experience, has fuelled my enthusiasm to join Brookfield's Governing Body and support my colleagues to be the best we can be for the children in our care.  Every child should have a wonderful time at our school and leave as rounded, independent, enthusiastic, happy learners - totally ready for their onward journeys.

Brookfield is a fabulous place to be and having a strong, committed Governing Body will ensure that both the infant and junior school continue to 'flourish' and support colleagues, children and the families in the community that we serve.
