My name is Cathy Smith and I am the Headteacher of Brookfield Infant School. I began my journey as a class teacher at Brookfield, moving through the leadership levels and became Head of School in 2017 before taking on the headship.
My passion has always been in the classroom with the children, inspiring and engaging children to learn while enabling them to grow into caring, well-rounded, resilient little people! I take great pride that I know each little person in our school personally and am fully invested in each and every child's progress and achievements through their time with us. I thoroughly enjoy the challenge of working across the Federation and seeing the children through to the end of their primary education. Being part of the Governing team allows me to share the hard work we do in school on a day to day basis and also show how we are strategically working towards whole school improvements.
As a school we are fortunate to have a committed, supportive team of governors who are regular faces around our school. Along with the rest of the leadership team, I frequently have meetings with governors to monitor the different Ofsted framework areas which our School Improvement Plan is designed around.
I am looking forward to the year ahead and the challenges and joys it brings!
