R.E.

Our RE lead is Mrs Burton. If you have any questions about RE, please contact her via the school office.

The purpose of RE

"RE explores big questions about life, to find out what people believe and what difference this makes to how they live, so that pupils can make sense of religion, reflecting on their own ideas and ways of living"

The curriculum for RE aims to ensure that all pupils:

  • Know about and understand a range of religions and worldviews
  • Express ideas and insights about the nature, significance and impact of religions and worldviews
  • Gain and deploy the skills needed to engage seriously with religion and worldviews

At Brookfield Infants we aim to teach children these skills through open discussions, where all views and beliefs are valued. We provide the children with hands on, interesting experiences, which encourage the children to ask questions and understand how other people’s lives differ from their own.

How to support your child at home

Information about what your child is learning each term is laid out in our knowledge organisers.

The best way to support your child is to talk to them openly and have discussions about different religions and world issues and events.

Knowledge Organisers

A summary of key knowledge and skills that the children will be taught over the term in RE.

EYFS learn RE in a slightly different way and details of what they are learning can be found on the EYFS class page.
