Fiona Batchelor

Hello, my name is Fiona Batchelor and I have been a governor here since 2017. Before that I was an active member of the FOBS from 2014. I have a daughter who joined Brookfield in year 1, who is now in secondary school, and a son who is currently in year 5.

I work as a Customer Service Development Librarian for Kent County Council. I look after eleven libraries and a mobile library in the Maidstone District, working to continually develop our services, organise events, reduce social isolation and digital exclusion, manage projects, lead on communication, and engage with the local community, inspiring a love of libraries and reading in the community.

I am also a counsellor and well-being therapist, working with children, adolescents and adults in groups or 1-2-1. I also deliver RSE classes and wellbeing workshops to children in KS2.
